Under the bright Botswana sun, a young jacana explores the calm waters of the Okavango Delta.
Its long legs delicately brush against the broad water lily leaves, allowing it to move forward lightly, as if walking on water — hence its future nickname of “Jesus bird”.
His mother, nearby, watches over him while he discovers his world, between the reflections of the sky and the flowers opening to the light.
Around him, everything seems suspended: the shimmering water, the green shadows, the white and mauve petals.
In this scene imbued with gentleness, life expresses itself in all its fragility and grace.
Each step of the little jacana is a reminder of the perfection of life — that delicate balance between innocence and instinct, between beauty and survival.
